Just being here was a great comfort

I'm a mom of six-year-old twins. Our younger twin was born fragile and has often been in the hospital. This time, surgery couldn't be avoided, and I was heartbroken. My husband and I took turns caring for our child. I had booked a hotel nearby, but a room opened up at Ronald McDonald House. We rested, ate well and recharged. Every detail seemed made with caregivers in mind, and just being here comforted me.

Our younger twin has been in and out of the hospital and needed surgery. At Ronald McDonald House, we could rest and recharge, and the thoughtful care comforted our hearts.

We made so many memories together

After our child was diagnosed with leukemia, we spent 61 days in the hospital, apart from our younger child. Before the transplant, we knew we'd be apart even longer. Thanks to the Ronald McDonald House, we made so many memories and spent precious time together. These memories will give us strength for the transplant and the road ahead. The kids called it a hotel. It felt like a vacation. Thank you so much.

A cozy refuge through two anxious weeks

Our baby was only 10 months old and needed both mom and dad. Watching our baby go through test after test, we felt the weight of being parents. Hospital life wore us all out. Soon after applying, we moved into Ronald McDonald House: Yangsan. Showers, a shared kitchen, a cozy bed, snacks and meals helped us get through more than two weeks in the hospital with our baby. Deeply grateful for care that reaches caregivers too

We live in Ulsan, so I was worried until I learned about Ronald McDonald House. There's a lot of support for sick children, but I'm deeply grateful for care that thinks of caregivers too. Thanks to Ronald McDonald House, many caregivers can rest their tired bodies. That strength will be passed on to our children. After three weeks at Ronald McDonald House: Yangsan, I want to thank everyone who built and cares for this place.

Our baby was born with a heart condition. When our baby needed surgery, we urgently needed a place to stay. I saw a notice about Ronald McDonald House in the hospital elevator and wondered if we could stay there too. I applied as soon as our baby was admitted. On our first day, the staff explained everything so kindly. Caring for our baby wore us out, and Ronald McDonald House truly felt like home sweet home.

How to apply

  1. Medical Appointment

    Schedule an appointment at Pusan National University Children's Hospital.

  2. Complete the Application Form

    Complete the application form available at the hospital's Administration Office and obtain approval from the attending physician.

  3. Submit Documents

    Location: Administration Office, 1st Floor, Children's Hospital
    Required document: copy of Resident Registration. Additional documents are required for public assistance recipients.

  4. Await Confirmation

    If the application is approved, the caregiver will be notified
    (about three days after submission).

Who is Eligible to Use the House?

Ronald McDonald House: Yangsan provides accommodations for families of pediatric patients aged 18 and under who are receiving treatment at Pusan National University Yangsan Hospital. Admission is based on the patient's treatment schedule and room availability.

How Many People Can Stay in Each Room?

Our rooms are designed for families to stay together. Standard occupancy is 2 to 4 guests per room, with a maximum occupancy of 3 to 5 guests depending on the room type.

Can I Use the House without Staying Overnight?

Yes. Families who have previously stayed at the House, or those referred by the hospital, may use the House facilities during the day without an overnight stay. Availability may vary depending on House operations, so please contact us in advance.

What Facilities and Support Activities are Available within the House?

The House offers a variety of spaces to help families stay comfortably during their child's treatment. Facilities include a shared kitchen and dining area, laundry room, playroom, quiet room, and massage chair lounge. We also provide programs that support families' emotional well-being.
